Kristin Gade

Kris Gade is a PhD student working with Ann Kinzig in the School of Life Sciences (SOLS) at ASU. She is also a fellow in the Interdisciplinary Graduate Education and Research Training (IGERT) in Urban Ecology program. This fellowship program is associated with the Central Arizona-Phoenix Long Term Ecological Research site (CAP LTER). CAP LTER focuses on interdisciplinary research into the ecology of the Phoenix Metropolitan Area.

Her dissertation topic is plant migration along freeways in and around Phoenix, Arizona. She is interested in whether native plants are able to move through the city along freeway corridors and also what characteristics of the freeway roadside facilitate the movement of weedy species out into the desert.
